MMDA announces traffic rerouting at Bonifacio Monument Circle for Independence Day celebration

Motorists that frequently drive along the Bonifacio Monument Circle in Caloocan City are advised to take alternate routes on June 12, Independence Day.

The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) has announced that starting at 12:00 midnight this Sunday, the monument circle and adjacent roads will be closed in commemoration of the 142nd Anniversary of the Proclamation of Philippine Independence.

The agency mentioned that other affected roads include portions of McArthur Highway, Samson Road, Rizal Avenue, as well as a section of EDSA. The MMDA added that the road closure will only be lifted until the culmination of the activity.

With the upcoming road closures in Caloocan City, motorists are advised to alternate routes in order to avoid any inconveniences.

Vehicles coming from Sangandaan Samson Road going to EDSA and Manila can take Heroes Del 96 Street, and take a left turn to 10th Avenue to their destination.

Meanwhile, motorists coming from Rizal Avenue to McArthur Highway may turn left at 10th Avenue, right to Heroes Del 96 Street, right to Samson Road, left to Dagohoy, left to Caimito Road, and right to Langka Street to their destination.

For vehicles heading towards EDSA, they may take 10th Avenue and turn left to B. Serrano to their destination. On the other hand, cars coming from EDSA going to Samson Road are advised to turn right at McArthur and turn left to Gen. Pascual to their destination.

Last but not least, vehicles coming from McArthur Highway going to Rizal Avenue and Samson Road may take Gen. Pascual to their destination. Vehicles going to EDSA may use the zipper lane going northbound, turn left at 8th Street, and make a left to their destination.
