Honda Cars Philippines, Inc. has officially launched the all-new 2015 Honda Odyssey for the local market during an event last night at One Esplanade in Pasay City. The new generation Odyssey is the Asian version of the nameplate and replaces the larger US-sourced Odyssey minivan that was sold since 2012.

The 2015 Honda Odyssey derives its look from the “Solid Streamline” design concept of Honda and seeks to achieve an “elegant and dynamically proportioned” look through the use of an ultra-low platform (for easier ingress/egress) that generates plenty of cabin space. As such, the exterior of the 2015 Odyssey makes use of advanced details like the LED projector headlamps, LED DRLs and LED taillights.

The interior was designed to meet the concept of a “Modern Suite Room” and makes full use of premium materials such as leather and quality accents to generate a comfortable cabin. The new generation Odyssey can seat two people in front, two in the middle and three on the third row. The second row seats are the centerpieces of the Odyssey, as they are “Captain Cradle Seats” with ottomans for increased comfort.

Standard comfort features include an automatic dual zone climate control, electrically-controlled rear sliding doors, a 7-inch touch screen up front, a roof-mounted 9-inch rear entertainment system, satellite navigation, HDMI ports (for video in the back), USB, Bluetooth and a DVD player.

Honda Odyssey engine

The 2015 Odyssey is one of the first Honda models available in the Philippines that comes with Earth Dreams Technology, thanks to the 2.4-liter, DOHC i-VTEC 4-cylinder engine (shared with the new Accord) with a Continuous Variable Transmission and paddle shifters. Honda's Earth Dreams Technology is a next generation set of technological advancements that enhances the engine to greatly improve both fuel efficiency and driving performance. The All New Odyssey is also equipped with the Eco Assist System, which consists of the ECON mode and the Eco coaching ambient light that promotes more fuel efficient driving habits.

Honda has also fitted the new generation Odyssey with a smart key, push-button ignition, a multi-view (360-degree) camera system and an automated parking assist system. Honda also saw to fit all the safety features they could find so the Odyssey gets a virtual alphabet soup for safety equipment. Standard in the new minivan are the Active Cornering Lights, Emergency Stop Signal (ESS), driver and passenger SRS airbags, side airbags, side curtain airbags, Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) with Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD), Vehicle Stability Assist (VSA) and Hill Start Assist (HSA).

The 2015 Odyssey is now available in dealers in Modern Steel Metallic, Premium Twinkle Black Pearl (PhP 20,000 option) and White Orchid Pearl (PhP 20,000 option) while colors such as Glamorous Mauve Pearl, Super Platinum Metallic, Carnelia Red Pearl and Crystal Black Pearl are available on order.

Honda Odyssey Mugen

Honda is also making the Odyssey available with factory kits from Mugen and Modulo. The Mugen Sport Package retails for PhP 91,200 and includes the Mugen sport grill, front lower grill, wing spoiler, door visor and luggage mats. The Modulo package retails for PhP 21,700 and includes the fender garnish, door mirror garnish, rear license garnish, a cargo net and tray, though Honda says the Modulo package will be offered for free until March 31, 2015.
