Hyundai hypes "Beast" concept in Uncharted movie
All-new Hyundai Tucson stars as ‘Beast’ in ‘Uncharted’
Gamers are on the edge of their seats waiting for the live-action movie of the popular console game ‘Uncharted’ to hit theaters. It stars Tom Holland as the titular character Nathan Drake and Mark Wahlberg as Sully.
But those two adventurers aren’t the only ones blazing trails in this movie. Auto enthusiasts and SUV lovers are in for a treat as well. The flick will also reveal a souped-up and beefed-up Hyundai concept based on the 2022 Tucson called the ‘Beast.’
In this the second installment of the Hyundai Motor and Sony Pictures partnership (the first one was Spider-Man: No Way Home), the Korean automaker uses a 2022 Tucson and tricked-out with a snorkel, a heavy-duty bulbar, industrial-strength roof rack, sturdy step bars, all-terrain tires, and various other rugged accouterments. The vehicle is the brainchild of Hyundai Design and Technical Center in California and Sony Pictures.
“The all-new Tucson is a highly capable SUV that is up for the challenge of a treasure-hunting adventure. Uncharted’ is a property with millions of fans around the world and we are excited to showcase the capabilities and technologies of our vehicles in ways that are creative and fitting to the Sony Pictures film," said Thomas Schemera, executive vice president, Global Chief Marketing Officer, and Head of Customer Experience Division of Hyundai Motor Company.
Aside from the Tucson Beast, expect to see other Hyundai’s in ‘Uncharted’ like the Genesis G90, Genesis G80, and Genesis GV80.
Hyundai also premiered a global TV ad featuring Tom Holland as Nathan Drake. The new commercial sees Drake having his muddy Tucson car washed after a treasure hunt. Check out the video above and see just how dirty the Tucson is after one of Drake's adventures.
