Isuzu mu-X to get proper facelift for 2025 model year
The 2025 Isuzu mu-X will also get a new sporty RS variant once revealed

Last year, Isuzu Philippines Corporation (IPC) mildly updated the mu-X for the 2023 model year. Not only did it get a new paint finish, but it also got a refreshed grille, fresh alloy wheels, and a smart power tailgate.
Then earlier this year, Isuzu decided to give the mu-X a high-tech upgrade for the 2024 model year. It now gets wireless Apple CarPlay & Android Auto, a wireless charging pad, a 360-degree around-view monitor (AVM), and a built-in digital video recorder.
All well and good but when will the second-generation Isuzu mu-X actually get a proper facelift? For the 2025 model year, the 7-seater frame-based SUV will be sporting a fresh new look. That's right, Isuzu will soon be taking the covers off the refreshed mu-X, and it's set to be revealed in Thailand.

The automaker has yet to release any images of the updated SUV. However, they did share a teaser image of the soon-to-be-revealed facelifted mu-X. Based on the photo, the front fascia will be heavily revised and will feature what looks like thinner LED headlights. Even the grille appears to get a flashier look for its upcoming update. All in all, we won't be surprised if it will share some styling cues from the 2024 D-Max which will be launched later this month.
But what's the mu-X on the right side? This one will be the RS version (different from Honda's RS trim) which will supposedly get a sportier appearance. Based on what Isuzu has revealed so far, it will get a distinct grille that will differ from the regular model. It also has what appears to be lime green accents on the “RS” grille badge.
Powertrain-wise, the 2025 mu-X will likely carry over the 1.9-liter RZ4E and 4JJ3-TCX turbo-diesel engines. The former makes 150 PS with 350 Nm of pull while the latter generates 190 PS and 450 Nm of torque. A choice between a 6-speed manual gearbox and a 6-speed automatic will most likely be the transmission option along with 4WD or 2WD.
With no exact date yet as to when Isuzu will reveal the 2025 mu-X, we'll be keeping our fingers crossed we won't have to wait that long.
