All-electric Lotus Eletre to make its presence felt in PH very soon

The 2023 Philippine EV Summit is heating up as manufacturers have started showing teaser images and announced special previews of vehicles that they will be showing this coming October 19.

The Autohub Group together with Lotus Cars Manila will also be at the annual event, and they have something special to unveil on Thursday. After making its global debut last year, Lotus will hold the exclusive launch of the all-electric Eletre electric SUV at the 2023 PH EV Summit.

That's right, the sports car brand known for making lightweight sports cars has also joined the lucrative electric SUV market. With an emphasis on performance, high-tech systems, as well as precise handling, the Eletre will serve as Lotus' flagship vehicle into the electric age.

No exact specifications have been revealed just yet for the Philippine market. However, we won't be surprised if it will have the same powertrain as the ones found in international markets.

Thanks to a pair of electric motors driving each axle, the Eletre can crank out over 600 PS and generate 710 Nm of torque. It also benefits from all-wheel drive which ensures grip and traction every time. Power is supplied by a 112 kWh lithium-ion polymer battery which gives the Lotus Eletre an estimated range of around 600 km based on the WLTP cycle.

Size-wise, the Eletre is a huge vehicle compared to its sports car siblings. In fact, the entire EV measures 5105mm long, 2135mm wide, and 1630mm tall. It also has a long 3019mm wheelbase which further highlights the Eletre's immense size.

Complementing the Eletre's all-electric powertrain is the high-tech cabin that's populated by several screens. Like most EVs in the market today, the Lotus Eletre gets a digital instrument panel, a large touchscreen infotainment system, and high-quality leather-fabric upholstery. And in case we haven't mentioned them yet, the Lotus Eletre is available with digital side mirrors which replace the traditional glass side mirrors.
