LTO-NCR HQ catches fire, operations unaffected
LTO-NCR HQ fire damages two computers, PHP 30,000 worth of property
The Land Transportation Office-National Capital Region (LTO-NCR) headquarters on Araneta Avenue in Quezon City caught fire yesterday, September 20, 2026.
According to the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), the fire broke out on the building’s third floor at around 11:14 a.m. and reached the second alarm. Firefighters declared the blaze out at about 12:04 p.m.
Two tables were damaged in the fire, along with the two computers placed on them. LTO Chief Markus Lacanilao said no important data or records were lost or compromised, while the estimated damage was placed at around PHP 30,000.
Authorities are looking into a possible electrical short circuit as the cause of the fire.
Lacanilao said LTO-NCR will resume normal operations today, September 21, and assured clients that the incident will not affect the agency’s day-to-day transactions.
