MG4 XPower EV hot hatch unleashed with 600 Nm of torque
With 435 PS and 600 Nm of torque, this electric MG is no slouch

MG surprised everyone last year when they revealed the Mulan (AKA MG4) EV to the world. Not only does this sleek hatchback look good both inside and out, but it's also capable of traveling up to 450 km on a full charge thanks to 51 and 64-kWh battery packs. There will even be a 150 kWh battery that will drastically increase its range.
Fast forward to the present day, and MG has unleashed the most powerful version of the EV yet. Say hello to the MG4 XPower, which can easily go toe-to-toe with high-performance sports cars. Despite its unassuming looks, MG claims the XPower can go from 0 – 100 km/h in only 3.8 seconds. This was made possible thanks to a dual-motor setup.

At the heart of the MG4 XPower are two electric motors in an all-wheel drive configuration. The result is a total system output of 435 PS and 600 Nm of torque. It is assisted by a Dynamic Cornering Control System that features an electronic locking differential with torque vectoring that helps in maximizing grip and traction.

The suspension has also been tweaked and comes with recalibrated spring and damper tuning, stiffer anti-roll bars, as well as sharper steering. In fact, MG says that overall suspension stiffness has been increased by up to 25% for better handling characteristics. Providing the necessary grip are Bridgestone Turanza tires while helping the MG4 XPower shave off speed are big disc brakes that measure 345 mm on all four corners.

The MG4 XPower is already available in the UK and will go up against the likes of the Volkswagen ID.3 while generating more power. With SAIC Motor taking over operations of MG Philippines, the automaker plans to offer hybrids and EVs in the future. Could we see the MG4 EV make its way here including the XPower?
