Despite restrictions and challenges, MIAS 2022 exceeds performance targets
No, that is not a typo. That's the approximate number of people that visited the 2022 Manila International Auto Show last weekend.
Worldbex Services International, the official organizer of the annual motor show, announced that they were able to surpass performance targets for the recently concluded MIAS 2022. Held at the World Trade Center in Pasay City last weekend, the 4-day motor show was able to welcome some 120,000 visitors.
This is a huge achievement despite the challenges and restrictions brought about by the pandemic, rainy weather, as well as heavy traffic in the area. Not only that, but car brands who were present during MIAS reported very high numbers in terms of reservations and inquiries.
Jill Ang, Managing Director of Worldbex Services International, says that they are looking forward to things progressing back to normal. More importantly, they have also announced holding MIAS 2023 sometime around April of next year.
Throughout the 4-day event, showgoers were treated to a wide array of brands and vehicle launches. From Nissan, GAC, Changan, Peugeot, Mitsubishi, Volvo, Chery, Foton, Chevy, MG, Geely, Subaru, and even Maserati, there was a car for every showgoer that went to the annual motor show.
With MIAS 2022 proving to be a success, the organizers of the Philippine International Motor Show (PIMS) have also confirmed that they will be holding a show come September of this year. The only question now is, will PIMS be able to attract more people than MIAS? We'll find out in the next few months.
