After giving everyone a glimpse of its upcoming plug-in hybrid (PHEV) at the 10th Philippine International Motor Show (PIMS) earlier this year, Mitsubishi Motor Philippines Corporation (MMPC) is ready to launch its electrified vehicle this August.

Set to make its official debut in the Philippines on August 20, 2026, is the fourth-generation Mitsubishi Outlander GT PHEV. Featuring a more dynamic look, a long list of features, and an electrified powertrain that can run on EV power when fully charged, the Outlander GT PHEV is set to become Mitsubishi's premier midsize electrified offering.

While official specifications are not yet available, we already have a good idea of what to expect based on what the Department of Energy (DOE) has released. Starting with its dimensions, the Outlander GT PHEV will measure 4720mm long, 1862mm wide, and 1751mm tall on a 2704mm wheelbase. It will also have 199mm of ground clearance, a curb weight of 2115 kg, and a payload capacity of 570 kg.

At the heart of the Outlander GT PHEV is a 2.4L inline-four MIVEC engine dubbed the 4B12 that's assisted by a pair of electric motors (one on each axle) and a 22.7 kWh lithium-ion battery pack. The engine makes 133 PS with 195 Nm of torque, while the front & rear electric motors produce 116 PS with 255 Nm of torque and 136 PS with 195 Nm of torque, respectively. Power is then sent to all four wheels via a reduction gearbox and AWD system.

In other markets where the Outlander GT PHEV is offered, the crossover SUV can travel on EV power up to 86 km on the WLTP cycle and has a combined system range of up to 844 km. It also comes with a vehicle-to-load (V2L) function to power up devices and appliances during a blackout.

When it comes to amenities, the Outlander GT will likely be available with a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment display with Apple CarPlay & Android Auto, an 8-speaker Dynamic Sound System from Yamaha, power-adjustable front seats with memory & cooling functions, a panoramic sunroof, a heads-up display, full leather upholstery, three-zone climate control, 20-inch alloy wheels, and a host of intelligent driver aids.

We'll be curious about the suggested retail price of the Outlander GT PHEV AWD once it's officially revealed in the coming weeks.
