MMPC looking to sell 1,500 examples of the new Xpander per month

Earlier today, Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corporation (MMPC) formally launched the 2022 Xpander. With that, the facelifted MPV is now available at authorized dealerships across the country. But if you're looking to get a brand new unit of the updated Xpander soon, you may have to wait a little while longer.

During the launch, we asked MMPC just how many units they expect to sell per month. The company answered confidently that they are looking to shift 1,500 units of the Xpander monthly. Why were they so confident with their answer? That's because the company said that the first 1,500 units are sold out.

That's right, those looking to get the new Xpander will have to wait for the next batch to arrive. Since the initial batch of vehicles has all been sold, Mitsubishi said that the next batch will consist of 2,000 examples and is slated to arrive this June.

So how was MMPC able to sell all 1,500 examples from the first batch? According to them, their bank partners relaxed the strictness of loans – allowing customers to get a loan in order to buy the 2022 Xpander. With the economy opening up once more, banks are currently not as strict as in 2020 and 2021.

With the Xpander proving to be one of MMPC's best-selling models to date, it's no wonder they are looking to bring in more units of the MPV next month. But will 2,000 be enough to satisfy customers that wish to buy the refreshed MPV? Or will Mitsubishi have to increase their unit allocations for the next batch?

Those interested can check out and test drive the new Xpander for themselves starting tomorrow as MMPC will be holding the Reimagine Your Test Drive Tour at the SM Mall of Asia Concert Grounds. The event is open to the public from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM daily from May 20 to 22.
