Mitsubishi PH to debut refreshed Xpander Cross
2023 might have just rolled around, but Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corporation (MMPC) is not wasting any time launching new models. Set to make its official debut soon in the country is the refreshed Xpander Cross.
That's right, after making its global debut in Indonesia last August 2022, MMPC has confirmed that they will be revealing the high-riding version of the MPV very soon. It's set to be launched on January 26, 2023, at McKinley Whisky Park, McKinley West in Taguig City.
No official specifications or variants have been revealed just yet. However, a quick look at what our friends over in Indonesia gets has given us a good idea of what to expect. First and foremost, it gets a similar redesign as the regular Xpander with its bolder Dynamic Shield grille and T-shaped headlights. However, the grille itself is painted black while the front bumper is more aggressive and comes with its own foglights.
The 2023 Xpander Cross gets a generous amount of body cladding and the new 17-inch alloy wheels wrapped in 205/55 tires. Size-wise, the Xpander Cross now measures 4595mm long, 1790mm wide, and 1750mm tall. It also has a ground clearance of 225mm.
Inside, the high-riding MPV gets some inspiration from its Montero Sport sibling as it now comes with a four-spoke leather-wrapped steering wheel and an 8-inch digital instrument cluster. It also has a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system that supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Other available features inside the 2023 Xpander Cross include leather seats, an electronic parking brake with auto hold, and a wireless charging pad.
Under the hood is the familiar 1.5-liter naturally-aspirated four-cylinder MIVEC engine. It produces 105 PS at 6000 rpm along with 141 Nm of torque at 4000 rpm. Depending on the variant, the Xpander Cross can be paired with either a 5-speed manual transmission or a CVT. There is no word yet if the PH-spec Xpander Cross will have the 4-speed automatic instead of the CVT.
With only just a couple of weeks away before its launch, we'll be keeping our eyes peeled for more info and details about the 2023 Xpander Cross.
