Not Prelude: Acura RSX to return as an EV crossover
Acura turns RSX nameplate into an all-electric SUV

Acura revived the Integra nameplate as it gave its own take on both the standard Civic and the Type R version with the Integra Type S. That alone would make you think they’d do the same with the RSX nameplate as a possible Acura version of the upcoming Honda Prelude.
However, it wasn’t meant to be. Acura has now designated the RSX for its newest all-electric crossover. Yes, a high-riding EV with a coupe-style rear end, similar to the Performance EV Concept shown in last year’s Monterey Car Week. Well played, Acura. You got our hopes up.
According to Acura’s assistant vice president of national sales Mike Langel, “The nameplate pays homage to the Acura RSX with its coupe-like silhouette, but it truly represents a forward-looking approach to fun-to-drive performance”.
Much like the Honda 0 Series models, the Acura will run the new Asimo operating system for the RSX. Other performance details are yet to be shared by Honda’s luxury brand but promises the RSX to be a “performance” SUV.
The Acura RSX will go on sale in 2026 for the North American market, while production will begin later this year at the new Honda EV hub in Ohio.
