PBBM: No EDSA Rehab until proper rerouting plans by LGUs
LGUs pressed by PBBM to present 'solid' rerouting plans for EDSA rehab

Last week, President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr.
postponed
the ambitious EDSA Rehabilitation Project, citing the need for more time to finalize the planning. The President has now further stipulated that the rehabilitation will not proceed until affected local government units (LGUs) present 'solid' and comprehensive rerouting schemes."Hangga't wala akong nakikitang solid na mga rerouting plans at masiguro na handang handa na ang mga LGU, 'wag muna natin gawin, ayusin muna natin ang mga plano," said President Marcos.
(As long as I don't see solid re-routing plans and it's not ensured that the LGUs are fully prepared, let's not do it yet. Let's fix the plans first.)

The President also emphasized in a Sunday vlog that a two-year disruption for the public, as he put it, was simply too prolonged.
According to Transportation Secretary Vince Dizon, the President has expressed a desire to expedite the rehabilitation of EDSA significantly. On Tuesday, Dizon stated that the President's vision is to complete the rehabilitation of the 23.8-kilometer EDSA, including making it flood-free, within six months—a sharp reduction from the initial two-year estimate. The estimated cost for this project is PHP 8.7 billion from Juan dela Cruz's pocket.
