Thanks to a very good source, we managed to get our hands on the official specifications of the 2022 Toyota Avanza. Here, we were able to see the vehicle's specs, features, colors, and safety kit.

Let's start with the dimensions. Based on the document, the new Avanza will measure 4395mm long, 1730mm wide, and 1700mm tall. Compared to the outgoing generation, the MPV is 205mm longer, 70mm wider, and 5mm taller. The MPV's wheelbase has also been stretched from 2655mm to 2750mm. With the increase in size, expect the Avanza to be roomier over the second-generation model.

Don't expect to find any halogen headlights on the 2022 Avanza. All variants of the Avanza will have LED headlights. That's right, from the J all the way to the G, the MPV will get a pair of bright LEDs.

When it comes to cabin amenities, the MPV will have some new and upgraded features. For starters, there's a new 8-inch touchscreen infotainment display on the G and E variants. Not only does it come with Bluetooth and USB, the system now supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto as standard. On the J variant, it only gets a smaller 6.75-inch touchscreen and lacks Apple CarPlay/Android Auto connectivity.

For the second-row passengers, you can now charge your mobile devices via two USB Type-A charging ports. Also available across all variants is the new 50:50 Tumble Down & Long Sofa Mode. This feature allows occupants to set the MPV with a lounge-like setting. Gone are the large dials and knobs for the air-conditioning system. Instead, Toyota installed a new digital A/C system that looks similar to the Rush.

Like its predecessor, the Avanza will have two Dual VVT-i four-cylinder engines. First is the 1.5-liter 1NR-VE that makes 106 PS at 6000 rpm and 138 Nm of torque at 4200 rpm. Meanwhile, the other engine is the 1.3-liter 2NR-VE which puts out 98 PS at 6000 rpm and 122 Nm of torque at 4200 rpm. The entry-level model will come with a five-speed manual gearbox. On higher-grade models, it comes with a new continuously variable transmission (CVT) that replaces the four-speed automatic.
