Porsche Cayenne Turbo S E-Hybrid more powerful than a 911 Turbo S
Porsche’s new top of the line Cayenne Turbo S E-Hybrid packs a 680 HP punch, top speed of 295 km/h

There’s a new range-topping variant for the Porsche Cayenne and it is the most powerful one yet. Called the Cayenne Turbo S E-Hybrid, it features a twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8 engine which produces a 550 horsepower paired with an electric motor rated at 136 horsepower. Combined, Porsche claims it has a total output of 680 horsepower and 900 Nm of torque, making it one seriously fast SUV. According to Porsche, the top-of-the-line Cayenne can go from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.8 seconds and reach a top speed of 295 km/h. On paper, the large SUV is more powerful than the current 991.2 911 Turbo S which has 580 PS and 750 Nm of torque.

The Turbo S E-Hybrid variant is available in both the standard Cayenne body style and the Cayenne Coupe. It also comes with a host of standard features including carbon-ceramic brakes, active anti-roll bars, torque-vectoring rear axle differential lock and the Sport Chrono package. Other standard features include larger 21-inch lightweight wheels with 22-inch units available as an option.

As it is a plug-in hybrid, the features a 14.1kWh lithium-ion battery pack under the cargo floor. Porsche claims the SUV can drive up to 43 kilometers on electric power alone and even reach an electric top speed of 135 km/h. Charging the battery fully takes around 2.4 hours with the standard 7.2 kW onboard AC charger when using a 400-volt connection with a 16-amp fuse.

Aside from the larger brakes, wheels and carbon trim, the Cayenne Turbo S E-Hybrid looks visually similar to that of other variants. Inside it's the same story with all the features simply being carried over such as Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and even new USB-C ports.
If the Cayenne Turbo S E-Hybrid is too much for you, Porsche has also released a more toned-down version called the Cayenne Coupe E-Hybrid. It features a 3.0-liter V6 paired with a 134 horsepower electric motor for a combined output of 455 horsepower. It features the same battery pack and electric drive range as the more powerful Turbo S E-Hybrid variant but forgoes of the performance kit. Essentially it is a coupe version of the Cayenne E-Hybrid.
