Read: MMDA updates "coding" scheme for 2020

It seems that the MMDA has updated some guidelines for the Unified Vehicular Volume Reduction Program, more commonly as (Number) “Coding”. While the ending numbers of license plates and their corresponding coding days remain the same, the update shows that some roads are no longer covered by the scheme. A specific list of thoroughfares that are and are not covered by the window hours has also been indicated in MMDA’s infographic below.

Among the noticeable changes are that Malabon is now covered by coding, and that Navotas and Pateros are now excluded from the scheme; at least according to the infographic released on the MMDA's website.

Cities in Metro Manila that do not have Coding are:

Marikina (except Marcos Highway)

Muntinlupa (Alabang-Zapote Road)

Navotas

Pateros

Taguig (except C5, East Service Road, and Manuel L. Quezon)

Note that while you can traverse all other interior roads of these cities without being apprehended for Coding violation, you may not use the above-mentioned Marikina, Muntinlupa, and Taguig roads from 7:00AM – 8:00PM.

On the other hand, cities that do have Coding hours from 7:00AM – 8:00PM with no window hours are:

Caloocan

Las Pinas

Makati

Malabon

Mandaluyong

Manila

Pasay (except MIA Road, Domestic Road, Airport Road, Sales Road, and portions of Buendia)

Pasig

Paranaque

Quezon City

San Juan

Valenzuela

The above-mentioned roads within the city of Pasay may be used anytime while all thoroughfares in the others cities are off-limits while coding hours are in effect.

EDIT as of 10January, 10:44PM - Upon confirmation with MMDA, Pasig does have window hours which are from 10:00AM - 4:00PM. The following roads, however, do not have window hours and cannot be used from 7:00AM to 8:00PM: 

C5, Shaw Blvd. (from R. Magsaysay to Pasig Blvd.), Marcos Hi-Way (from Katipunan to Sumulong Hi-Way [Manila area]), Ortigas Avenue/Extension (from Santolan to Imelda Avenue).

EDIT as of 14January, 10:40AM - The MMDA has likewise confirmed that Paranaque does have window hours as well. "Coded" vehicles can use city roads from 9:00AM to 4:00PM.

It is also worth mentioning that though the East-West NLEX Service Road through Valenzuela has now been excluded (or is missing) in the list of Major Roads included in Coding, MMDA has confirmed that it is still covered by the 7:00AM – 8:00PM Coding hours.

It pays to always be informed, and also, sharing is caring. Obeying the law is our own responsibility, and being apprehended for coding violations is something we can all easily avoid.
