RIOT: The new off-road park and campsite in Rizal

We have some good news for off-roaders, 4x4 enthusiasts, as well as motocross and mountain bike racers: there's a new playground for you to test your rugged rigs, and it's not too far from the city.

It's called the Rizal International Offroad Track (RIOT) and it's one place you should visit if you want to dip your M/Ts into the off-roading and overlanding scene.

The new Rizal off-road playground consists of the main race track, special stages, and trails in varying difficulties. It's not all about off-road, though. There are also campsites for families and friends to enjoy to chill and relax.

First time going off-roading? Don't worry; they also offer basic off-roading lessons and advanced off-roading lessons for those that want to enhance their off-roading skills.

To give you an idea of what to expect, RIOT has posted several videos on its social media page. Based on this particular video, that seems to be one of the more difficult trails in the area. It requires heavily modified 4x4s together with drivers with more experience. One thing is for, expect to get your shoes muddy.

Aside from the track, RIOT also provided photos of the campsites; there are three in total. Don't want to camp? There are Nipa Huts, Open Kubos, Kubos with Rooms, and an Overlooking Triangle Kubo that visitors can rent. Overnight stays are also allowed for those that want to have a quick getaway from city life.

Interested? The entrance fee to RIOT, which includes access to CVM Orchard and Ecopark starts at PHP 100 for kids from 3 – 10 years old and PHP 200 for those ages 11 and up.
