This is the entry-level 2025 MG ZS 1.5 Comfort

Last night, MG Motor Philippines officially revealed the second-generation 2025 ZS. With it, the automaker is banking on its latest B-SUV to capture the market once more. But unlike the outgoing generation, the all-new model is available with a 1.5L hybrid powertrain derived from the MG3 Hybrid+. The result is a combined 197 PS with 250 Nm of torque and the ability to average well over 20 km/L under the best conditions.

This doesn’t mean MG has stopped offering a naturally-aspirated version of its popular B-SUV. Heck, the automaker is even offering a turbocharged 1.5L via the Sport variant. But what do you get when you opt for the entry-level ZS 1.5 Comfort?

With a special introductory price of PHP 908,888 (PHP 948,888 regular price) until July 31, the MG ZS 1.5 Comfort is quite the bargain. Not only is it bigger and more stylish than its predecessor, but it also gets plenty of new and upgraded features despite being the base variant. 

Starting with the exterior, the 1.5 Comfort relatively looks the same as the higher-grade models, as it gets a tailgate spoiler, roof rails, and LED daytime running lights. The only telltale sign that it’s the entry-level version is the 16-inch alloys wrapped in 215/60 series tires. It also gets the dynamic grille and the sleek headlights. However, instead of LED lighting, the 1.5 Comfort only comes with halogen projectors.

Hop inside, and the ZS 1.5 Comfort welcomes occupants into a simple yet sleek cabin. It’s not as high-tech looking as the Hybrid+ and the turbocharged Sport, but the automaker made sure it had the essentials. The digital instrument cluster has been replaced with traditional analog gauges, along with a 3.5-inch multi-info display. Meanwhile, the leather upholstery makes way for fabric seats. Instead of a push-button gear selector, the base 1.5 Comfort gets a traditional gear selector.

Despite being the most affordable variant, the ZS 1.5 Comfort still comes with a touchscreen infotainment display. It’s slightly smaller at 10.25 inches (higher variants get a 12.3-inch screen), but it still comes with features such as Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Unfortunately, the driver’s seat lacks height adjustability, which may be a concern for some drivers should they opt for the Comfort version of the ZS.

Under the hood, the 1.5 Comfort gets a naturally-aspirated four-cylinder engine that makes 110 PS and 142 Nm of torque. It is then paired to an 8-speed CVT that drives the front wheels.

Those who want more amenities in the ZS can get the 1.5 Luxury, which is currently selling at a special introductory price of PHP 1,048,888 (PHP 1,088,888 regular price). But for those who are looking at a sub-PHP 1 million vehicle, the ZS 1.5 Comfort may be their ticket to a no-frills vehicle.
