eat my dust!!!

are you planning on retaining the stock engine?
and also yung stock galant ba yung v6 na engine versus the 3sfe of the corona?

if not id go with the corona... pwede 3sgte o yung normaly aspirated na 3sge.

not so much good experience kasi with the 94/95 galant SS. mahina timing belt. broke one at 40kms.... nyak...

pero may nakapag gawa na ng v6 turbo. 6att ata yung engine number... or something.

hp wise if you plan to change engine

from the top of my head: - do correct if i am inaccurate  :)

toyota force induced
2.0L inline4 3sgte - ballpark 245bhp to 250bhp

vs.

mitsubishi force induced
2.0L dohc V6 6A12TT - ballpark 240bhp to 250bhp or
2.0L dohc inline4 4G63T - ballpark anywhere from 260bhp below (below evo4 4G63T model)

toyota n/a setup
2.0L inline4 3sge n/a - ballpark 190bhp to 200bhp

vs.

mitsubishi n/a setup
2.0L dohc V6 6A12 Mivec MD n/a - ballpark 200bhp

good matchup for both - engine wise.

the '95 model galant (7th gen galant) for the vr4 (awd and some have 4ws) model has the 6A12TT.

i know a guy in new zealand who official did:
12.640 @ 107mph - 7th gen VR4 (awd) stock engine, stock twin turbos with 18 rims.

am going to be biased and say the galant. if you choose the galant and plan to change the engine, get the 4G63T - more aftermarket support as compared to the 6a12tt.

in the end, its a matter of preference i think. have you  considered getting a more lighter car?

if you are keeping the engine stock, the '95 galant vr has more potential than the '95 galant ss (super saloon with a sohc 4G63 and with 137 ponies) and also versus the stock engine of the '95 corona.

i have a few friends who have '95 coronas and from experience di kaya ang galant vr.

more of a match ang stock '95 corona vs. the galant ss.

my friend's heavy all stock 7th gen galant vr non-turbo did a 15.3sec in the 1/4 run.

his galant was also matched against a nissan 300zx  and lost by .2 secs. the nissan dialed in at 15.2 and the galant 15.4.

here is a video of a '96 body galant vr4 - all stock 2.0L v6 dohc 6A12tt  +  225/18s + 1550kgs (full interior) + awd = 13.0 @ 105

am also biased toward the Galant...although the (5 model has its share of trouble...the guy who said the timing belt broke after 40tkms...that's right...heard that often enough...

if you're gonna get one of those babies, check the suspension, that's the troublesome feature of this generation of Galants...

but then again, you'd be replacing stock shocks anyway, so what the heck right?

go for the Galant... ;o)
