Yah our family really loves luxury SUV's..My dad has a '98 range rover 4.6 HSE..I drive a '04 Nissan Patrol..My bro a 3.8 Pajero..My sister a 2.5 Xtrail..the only sedan we have is a 3.0 camry  :D

Jay-r

yeah, it is a mix of a lot of other suvs. but put them all together IMO looks pretty good. :)

Chevy has this SUV on display and testdrive in the motorshow in WTC. I'm quite surprised that a common-rail diesel was available for it. It's adequately-powered too at 150hp and 320nm for a 2.0 "VCDI." I have a feeling that this SUV will be a hit for GM Phils.  :happy1:

This is bigger than the Tucson, the Captiva is closer in size to the Santa Fe, New Outlander and LWB Rav4.

Walang originality

That reminds me... the concept version of the Captiva, the Chevrolet S3X Concept made its debut way back in September 2004! Thats before the Rav4 and about the same time as the Fortuner.

The Fortuner SUV was launched at the end of 2004 as a 2005 model.
The new Rav4 was launched in mid/late 2005 as a 2006 model.

Round bumper mounted fog lights like the Sorento and Fortuner? Actually i think its quite common.

engines are : 2.4l inline 4 dohc - fwd
2.0l crdi with variable geometry turbo -  fwd and awd

DTNS

IMO, the captiva's 2.4L engine's output is pretty low. It only makes 142hp and 220nm of torque.

The 2.4 liter engine may only make 142hp, but thats at a low 5200 rpm.
Add a P100K and you get the VCDi model with 150hp @ 4000 rpm and 320Nm @ 2000 rpm!

Captiva 2.4 gas(2WD A/T) P1.175M
Captiva 2.4 gas(AWD A/T) P1.375M
Captiva 2.0 diesel(2WD A/T) P1.275M
Captiva 2.0 diesel(AWD A/T) P1.475M

In terms of pricing, the entry level 2.4 Captiva will compete with the "smaller" Escape/Tribute 2.3, CR-V 2.0 and X-trail 200.

It looks Korean coz its Korean made. The Chevy Captiva is the same as the Daewoo Winstrom which was designed in Incheon, South Korea. There's supposed to be a V6 3.2-liter version which puts out 225hp. Now that would be much more fun than the 2.4-liter four banger.

But if you consider the price, the 2WD diesel is a good contender. I wonder how it drives though.
