2020 Audi Q2: Now with (slightly) more standard kit

There's a new contender in the luxury compact crossover arena. It hails from Audi and it's the updated and upgraded Q2. Yes, it's barely a year old but Audi Philippines has brought in yet another version with more standard equipment on board.

So what exactly has been added for the 2020 model year? For starters, it finally gets Audi's Virtual Cockpit system. Gone are the old analogue gauges and in its place is a wide screen which allows the driver to set up his or her instrument cluster the way they like it. Because of this, the 2020 Q2 also gets an upgrade in its infotainment screen.

Also getting an update is the Multi Media Interface or MMI system. It now includes navigation which can be displayed via the center screen or straight to the instrument cluster. Another convenience feature added to the 2020 Q2 is cruise control, which should make highway driving that little less strenuous. However, while it does have cruise control now, adaptive cruise control is not available.

These changes help bring the Q2 bang up to date against its competitors, namely the BMW X1, Mercedes-Benz GLA, and the newest of the group, the Lexus UX.

As for the engine, it has been carried over from last year's model. Powering it is a turbocharged 1.0-liter, three-cylinder mill. It's good for 116 PS and 200 Nm of torque and shifts via a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission dubbed S-Tronic. It's no Quattro though, as the Philippine-spec Q2 is front-wheel drive only, at least for now.

Price? Audi Philippines isn't mentioning anything at the moment. However, we're expecting a slight price bump because of the added kit.
