Beauty meets the beast in all-new Aston Martin DBX707
Just before the holidays last year, Aston Martin Manila announced that the brand’s most powerful super SUV is set to arrive in the country very soon. With a souped-up V8, a more muscular exterior, and a retuned suspension system, it was set to take on the likes of the Lamborghini Urus and the BMW X5 X6 M.
After nearly two months, Aston Martin Manila has officially launched the 2023 DBX707, and it’s packing plenty inside and out. Featuring a unique combination of blistering performance, a unique style, and opulent luxury, the DBX707 is the automaker’s idea of combining beauty and beast.
The beating heart of the DBX707 is a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 that cranks out an impressive 707 PS (hence the 707 name) along with a monstrous 900 Nm of pull. This was made possible thanks to a new pair of turbochargers as well as a recalibration of the engine for more boost. The result is an additional 157 PS and an extra 200 Nm of pull. Rounding it all up is a quad exhaust system that further accentuates the V8’s thunderous rumble.
Handling all that extra power is a faster-shifting 9-speed wet dual-clutch gearbox and an upgraded rear e-diff to take on the additional pull. It also has a shorter final drive ratio for better acceleration off the line. The all-wheel drive system, on the other hand, has also been retuned to match the e-diff for better traction and handling across any terrain. From a standstill, Aston Martin claims the DBX707 can go from 0 - 100 km/h in 3.3 seconds and reach a top speed of 310 km/h.
Over to the chassis upgrades, both the suspension and subframe are made from lightweight cast aluminum and are complemented by an adaptive triple-chamber air suspension. It also comes with a variable ride height that can raise or lower the DBX707 by 45mm or 30mm, respectively. Providing loads of grip is a set of Pirelli P Zero tires. The front set measures 285/40 while the rear comes in at 325/35. The tires are then shod in huge 22-inch alloy wheels. Last but not least are carbon ceramic disc brakes with 6-piston aluminum calipers at the front and an aluminum sliding-piston at the rear.
As mentioned earlier, the DBX707 gets a unique exterior design. It features a more muscular and aggressive look thanks to a new front bumper that’s paired with a large grille, redesigned air intakes, as well as a front splitter. The rear relatively remains the same but gets a new roof spoiler and a multi-piece winged diffuser for improved aerodynamics.
A wide array of standard features will greet the occupants of the DBX707. For starters, Alcantara-leather seats are fitted with the front seats benefitting from 16-way electric adjust with memory function. Keeping everyone cool inside the DBX707 is a three-zone automatic climate control with rear vents. Giving drivers an extra pair of eyes comes courtesy of a 360-degree camera system.
Infotainment comes in the form of a 10.25-inch central display complete with a touchpad and dial. It supports Bluetooth, satellite navigation, Apple CarPlay/Android Auto connectivity, 4 USB ports, and intelligent voice control. Other interior amenities present include 64-color LED ambient lighting, an 800-watt 14-speaker sound system, a 12.3-inch digital instrument panel, Alcantara headlining, a power tailgate, 40:20:40 split-folding rear seats, acoustic laminated windows, and park assist.
“A testament to Aston Martin’s dedication to igniting the passion for the ultimate driving experience, the DBX707 is another masterpiece that marries technology with masterful craftsmanship. From its trademark luxurious fittings to the boosted turbo engine, The DBX707 takes our discerning clientele to the next level, and it is an honor for us to bring this to the Philippine market,” said Marc Louie Tagle, Chairman and president of Aston Martin Manila.
The first local unit of the DBX707 comes in a very unique Apex Gray color with Phantom Gray Seats that come with an exclusive Q Collection Color accent, Electron Yellow. This environment matches its sporty exterior, with its yellow brake calipers, smoked tail lights, and black chrome Aston Martin badge.
The starting price of the 2023 Aston Martin DBX707 begins at PHP 33,500,000.
