GMC reveals the fully-loaded Yukon Denali Ultimate
When people think of big SUVs, cars like the Chevrolet Suburban or its smaller sibling the Tahoe come to mind. But for some that prefer something different while still being luxurious, there's the GMC Yukon.
Related to both the Tahoe and Suburban, the GMC Yukon may not have an official presence here, but it's quite popular with gray-market dealers that offer it a (rather) premium price. And for those that have been looking to get the most opulent Yukon yet, GMC has revealed the 2023 Yukon Denali Ultimate.
From its namesake, the full-size SUV comes with the latest high-quality trimmings, cutting-edge technologies, as well as a host of intelligent driver aids. But what exactly did GMC install in their most luxurious model yet?
For starters, the exterior of this particular Yukon Denali comes with exclusive “Vader Chrome” accents. It also gets “Galvano” trim on the front fascia which further gives the SUV its striking appearance. Providing a bit of contrast are the bright chrome finishes on the window and door panel trims. Last but definitely not least are the massive 22-inch seven-spoke ultra-bright machined alloy wheels.
Hop inside, and the 2023 Yukon Denali Ultimate greets occupants with full-grain leather for all three rows of seats. Both the driver and front passenger seats benefit from 16-way power-adjustable seats with a massage function. The SUV also comes with woodgrain trim all around which complements the Alpine Umber brown leather interior finish. To remind would-be owners they are in something special, the “Ultimate” badging on the backrests of the front seats.
Providing in-car infotainment is a 10.2-inch touchscreen display that comes with built-in Google, Android Auto, as well as Apple CarPlay. It even comes with Wi-Fi HotSpot capability for added functionality. Audiophiles will also be happy to know that the Ultimate is equipped with an 18-speaker Bose sound system complete with integrated speakers on the front headrests.
Perhaps serving as the most high-tech feature inside the SUV is Super Cruise. The Denali Ultimate is actually the first Yukon to come with the intelligent driver aid which serves as a driver-assist system. It comes with automatic lane-change functionality, as well as hands-free trailer towing.
Under the hood, the Yukon Denali Ultimate is available with two engine options. First is a 6.2-liter naturally-aspirated V8 that makes 425 PS plus 624 Nm of torque. The other engine is a 3.0-liter Duramax turbo-diesel inline-six that puts out 281 PS and 624 Nm of pull. Power is then routed to a 10-speed automatic transmission.
Other standard powertrain/drivetrain features present in the 2023 Yukon Denali Ultimate include magnetic ride control, adaptive air suspension, active 4WD, electronic limited-slip differential (LSD), and Auto Track two-speed transfer case.
With the 2023 GMC Yukon Denali Ultimate loaded to the brim with features and amenities, we won't be surprised if gray market dealers will start offering this SUV very soon. If you had the ability to choose a Tahoe or the Yukon Denali Ultimate, which one would you get?
