Limited to just 24 units worldwide
In an automotive world that's shifting towards electrification, there are some who simply can't get enough of pure-combustion hypercars.
One of them is Hennessey Performance. They are the same people behind the 6x6 beast called the Velociraptor, and now their latest creation has been revealed – a 1,817 horsepower hypercar called the F5 Revolution.
Basically, it's Hennessey's track-only version of the 482 km/h F5 hypercar revealed back in 2017, and was made lighter, faster, and just as exclusive as its road-going counterpart.
Hennessey did not say the exact curb weight but they did mention the F5 Revolution tips the scales under 1,360 kilograms. The Texas-based hypercar manufacturer focused on reducing mass while also reworking the car's aerodynamics, suspension, engine cooling, and digital telemetry to make it a highly capable track machine.
Now on to its power figures. In this day and age, you would expect four-digit horsepower numbers on hypercars with an electric propulsion or hybrid assist. But Hennessey begs to differ, as the F5 Revolution unleashes all its 1,817 horses from a 6.6-liter, twin-turbo V8 engine that's aptly named “Fury”. Power is then sent to the rear wheels through an automated single-clutch gearbox calibrated for competitive use.
Since the F5 Revolution is built for the track, expect a lower top speed than the road-going F5; but only just. While there are no official top speed figures, the key takeaway here is the amount of downforce the F5 Revolution can make from its full-width rear wing. According to Hennessey, the wing produces 800 pounds of downforce at 300 km/h and over 1,400 pounds at 400 km/h. This means the F5 Revolution is still capable of going past 400 km/h even if its bodywork was altered to make it stick to the ground.
Aside from the bodywork and engine enhancements, Hennessey also installed some go-fast track bits on the F5 Revolution, starting with its fully-adjustable double wishbone suspension, carbon-ceramic brakes with multi-piston calipers, new forged alloy wheels, and on-board track telemetry system to measure lap times, G-forces and timing splits.
Set to make its public debut at the Miami Motorcar Cavalcade Concours d'Elegance on January 15, 2023, the Hennessey Venom F5 Revolution is only limited to 24 units and has a price tag of USD 2.7 million (or nearly PHP 149 million).
