Limited-run Audi RS6 Avant GT debuts with plenty of exterior, interior, and mechanical upgrades

If there's one Audi that can immediately catch the attention of enthusiasts, car-spotters, and even bystanders, it's probably the RS6 Avant.

While it may simply look like a stylish wagon, it has a lot more going for it thanks to a twin-turbo V8 under the hood that pushes out 600 PS and 800 Nm of torque to all four wheels. If that's not enough horsepower and torque in the standard variant, there's also a performance version that cranks out 630 PS and 850 Nm which should satisfy owners and perhaps embarrass sports cars.

While it seems Audi has done all it can to make the fourth-generation RS6 Avant stand out as well as perform on the road, the Ingolstadt-based automaker has just revealed yet another edition of the high-performance wagon. This is the 2024 Audi RS6 Avant GT, and it's packing plenty of tech.

Using an RS6 Avant performance as a base, the new GT variant packs a substantial amount of upgrades that include lightweight carbon fiber components, a retuned suspension, a more aerodynamic exterior, and an eye-catching interior. Starting with the exterior, Audi borrowed inspiration from the RS6 GTO Concept as well as from the IMSA GTO racecar from 1986. The result is a sleek-looking wagon that features a bold black grille, massive 22-inch alloy wheels, motorsports-inspired graphics/decals, red splitters, and a double-wing rear spoiler for extra downforce.

As mentioned earlier, Audi made good use of carbon fiber throughout the RS6 Avant GT. In fact, the automaker claims the side mirrors, hood, and front fenders are all made from the lightweight composite. Not only do the carbon fiber parts reduce the overall weight, but the vents on the fenders reduce air pressure while also improving brake cooling.

Pop the doors open and you are invited into a sporty and aggressive cabin. It has a predominantly black interior and is complemented by neat touches of red accents, red contrast stitching, and LED ambient lighting which can be set to red. In maintaining the red-colored hue, the seat belts are also finished in red while the floor mats get a special RS6 GT logo that's stitched in (you guessed it) red.

Under the hood, the 4.0-liter twin-turbo TFSI V8 delivers a whopping 630 PS along with 850 Nm of torque. It is then paired with an 8-speed Tiptronic automatic gearbox and the brand's signature quattro AWD system. 0 – 100 km/h can be easily achieved in 3.3 seconds and its top speed is rated at 305 km/h. Beyond those, the RS6 Avant GT gets a specially-tuned differential and an adjustable coilover suspension. The upgraded suspension not only delivers better handling and comfort depending on the settings, but it also lowers the ride height by around 10mm.

Other upgrades present on the Audi RS6 Avant GT include Continental Sport Contact 7 tires, a carbon ceramic braking system, and stiffer stabilizers that further aid in the vehicle's handling.
