Vietnam is first LHD market in Southeast Asia to get Mitsubishi XForce

Last year, we saw Mitsubishi reveal its new B-SUV fighter, the XForce. Not only did it impress with its sleek concept-like looks, but the stylish B-segment crossover also features a high-tech cabin that's loaded with features. Moreover, the XForce has a generous 222mm of ground clearance and massive 18-inch alloy wheels.

With a vehicle that looks like it came from the future along with a suspension that's tuned for ASEAN roads, the Mitsubishi XForce looks like something the Philippine market will gladly have. Heck, we may not have to wait for too long for its (eventual) arrival.

After making its global debut at the 2023 Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS), the Mitsubishi XForce officially arrived in Vietnam in left-hand drive (LHD) format. This marks the first time the B-SUV has been revealed with the steering wheel on the other side of the dashboard – perhaps foreshadowing its imminent debut in the Philippines.

Just like the vehicle launched in Indonesia back in 2023, the XForce revealed in Vietnam gets the same striking exterior design. From the T-shaped LED headlights & taillights to the turbine-style 18-inch alloy wheels, as well as the tall ground clearance and distinct roofline, the Mitsubishi XForce is a looker in every direction.

Serving as the main highlight, however, is the cabin as we get to see the crossover SUV in LHD format. While it gets the same dashboard as the one sold in Indonesia, the Vietnam-spec XForce is our best look yet as to what we can expect when the XForce gets here. As before, the cabin greets occupants with a two-tone finish, a digital instrument cluster, a wide 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system (8-inch on lesser models), a leather-wrapped steering wheel, leather seats, as well as a multi-meter display that appears to pay homage to the Pajero.

Other key features available inside the crossover include; dual-zone automatic climate control with nanoe air filtration, a smartphone wireless charger, LED ambient lighting, a Yamaha sound system, a reverse camera, a drive mode selector (Normal, Wet, Gravel, and Mud), and the brand's Active Yaw Control that can automatically adjusts the driving force on the front left and right wheels to improve traction and avoid skidding.

Under the hood of the XForce is a 1.5-liter naturally-aspirated four-cylinder MIVEC engine that is paired with a CVT driving the front wheels. The inline-four makes a humble 104 PS along with 141 Nm of torque.

With Vietnam the first LHD market in ASEAN to get its hands on the Mitsubishi XForce, does this mean other LHD countries like the Philippines are next in line to get the new B-SUV? We're keeping our fingers crossed Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corporation decides to bring it to the country later this year after the Triton.
