Another fuel price hike awaits motorists tomorrow
This is the fifth consecutive week in 2022 that gas companies have increased pump prices

Throughout the entire month of January, gas companies hiked fuel prices for 4 consecutive weeks. As a result, the average price of gasoline is now at PHP 57 to PHP 62 per liter, depending on where you are. Meanwhile, diesel is now averaging between PHP 50 and 55 per liter.
As we enter February, another price hike awaits motorists. Starting February 1, gas companies will once again be increasing the price of gasoline, diesel, and kerosene. Both gasoline and diesel will receive a PHP 0.75 increase, while kerosene will go up by PHP 0.45.
Gas companies such as Shell, Caltex, Seaoil, Unioil, PTT, and Petrogazz have already announced price hikes that will take place tomorrow at 6:00 AM. Cleanfuel has also advised its customers that they will be making price adjustments starting at 4:01 PM on February 1, 2022. Other gas companies have yet to release an advisory but expect them to adjust their prices as well starting tomorrow morning.
If you plan on going somewhere for the Chinese New Year, you might want to gas up now before long lines form at your nearest gas stations. Don't forget to wear your face mask and follow the minimum health protocols while you're filling up. The last thing you want to happen is to get infected while you're at the pumps.
