Aston Martin DB11 launched in the Philippines

During last year's Geneva Auto Show, Aston Martin unveiled the DB11, the successor to the iconic DB series of grand tourer. Now, the British marque's flagship model has arrived in the country.

Using an all new aluminum platform, the DB11 will be the successor to the DB9. With a new designer, Aston Martin's newest flagship model is said to combine the heritage of the brand and, at the same time, a new shift in their design language. According to Aston Martin, the car's design takes inspirations from models before it such as the DB2/4, DB5, and, most recently, the DB10 that recently starred in James Bond's Spectre. 

The front features LED headlights with integrated daytime running lights (DRLs), along with a one-piece aluminum clamshell hood and the signature grill. The side profile features the car's sleek roofline and flowing beltline that flows into one line from front and rear. At the back, it gets distinct boomerang-inspired LED taillights plus bumper-integrated diffusers. Unique to this model is a spoiler called AeroBlade, which channels air from the C-pillar through ducts that then exit via slots on the rear deck lid. Completing the look is a set of 20-inch ten-spoke alloy wheels.

Inside, the DB11 is trimmed with hand-stitched leather, complemented by piano black, aluminum and wood grain trim. Infotainment is provided by an 8-inch touchscreen display with iPod, iPhone, USB, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity. Other standard features present in the DB11 include: front memory seats with heating function, 360-degree birds-eye camera, cruise control, dual zone automatic climate control and a tire pressure monitoring system.

The DB11 will be powered by a new 5.2-liter V12. A pair of turbochargers help power the car to 608PS and make 700Nm of torque. An 8-speed ZF transmission sends the power to the rear wheels via a carbon fiber drive shaft. Based on figures from Aston Martin, the DB11 does 0 to 100 km/h in 3.9 seconds with a top speed of 322 km/h. On top of that, the DB11 also features active damping, a limited slip differential, Positive Torque Control and Active Torque Vectoring.

First local deliveries of the DB11 are scheduled to begin in March 2017.
