DOTr: Plate and plastic card issues to be solved within the year
DOTr Sec. Jaime Bautista announced that backlog issues will be resolved by end of 2023

The Land Transportation Office (LTO) has been struggling to deliver license plates and physical driver’s license cards (plastic cards) during the past three presidential administrations.
The LTO owes the motoring public close to 14 million undelivered license plates for cars and motorcycles, while undelivered plastic cards account for about 5.2 million. Yesterday, during the turnover ceremony of LTO’s top seat, Transportation Secretary Jaime Bautista announced that all these issues will be resolved this year.

“Yung problema natin sa plaka, problema natin sa lisensya ay mare-resolve po natin within the year. With the finalizations of the procurement of the plates, nagkaroon na nga ng delivery last week and today. Yung delivery naman ng ating mga license cards ay nangyari na,” says Department of Transportation (DOTr) Secretary, Jaime Bautista.
(Our problem with the plates, driver’s licenses, we will resolve them within the year. With the finalizations of the procurement of plates, we received deliveries last week and today. The deliveries of license cards, it already happened.)
With the supply procurement being fast-tracked, we hope that the LTO can keep up with the deliveries just in time before PBBM’s term is over.
