Foton Thunder gets new face for 2020, begins at Php 1.003M
Foton's midsize pickup truck gets a facelift and more in latest refresh

There seems to be no signs of the pickup truck wars of slowing down. For Foton Motors Philippines Inc. (FMPI), this meant now is the right time to introduce their updated pickup truck.
Making its official debut at the first-ever Foton Big AtTrucktion expo is the 2020 Thunder 4x2. It gets a new face up front and a slightly revised cabin, and is still powered by a Euro4 Cummins turbo-diesel powerplant.

Starting with the most obvious, the 2020 Thunder gets a redesigned front fascia. A new three-bar style front grill with chrome and black inlays makes its way onto the pickup truck. It is then accompanied by a new set of halogen projector headlights, along with a revised front bumper and redesigned foglights. Topping everything off are the new fender flares, and the 16-inch alloy wheels wrapped in 265/70 tires.
Inside, Foton gave the Thunder minor revisions such as new fabric seats, and an updated touchscreen infotainment display. It supports AM/FM radio, Bluetooth, Aux, iPod, USB, SD, as well as video playback. Automatic climate control, steering wheel audio controls, keyless entry, and a height-adjustable driver’s seat complete the Thunder’s in-car amenities.

As before, a 2.8-liter Cummins turbo-diesel engine powers the Foton Thunder. It produces 160 PS at 3600 rpm with 365 Nm of torque at 1500 - 3400 rpm. Power is then sent to either a six-speed automatic or manual gearboxes. The 2020 Foton Thunder is currently available only in 4x2 trim.
In terms of safety features, the refreshed Thunder comes with the following: anti-lock brakes with electronic brakeforce distribution and brake assist, hill-start assist (also called hill-hold control), stability control, reverse parking sensors, as well as front dual airbags.

Thinking of getting the 2020 Foton Thunder? The company is offering a Php 30,000 cash discount for those that plan to buy one during the two-day expo.
Pricing of the 2020 Foton Thunder are as follows:
2.8L Thunder 4x2 M/T - Php 1,003,000
2.8L Thunder 4x2 A/T - Php 1,128,000
