Huawei has a Maybach rival called Maextro S800
Huawei has Rolls Royce and Maybach in its sights with new Maextro S800 luxury sedan

In the segment of ultra-luxury sedans, you think of the names Rolls Royce or Mercedes-Maybach or even Bentley. Well, a brand from PRC wants in – Huawei.
That’s right. The company known for making smartphones and smart devices has decided to enter the luxury segment, beginning with the Maextro S800 – the largest EV sedan (to date) that came out of China.

Maextro is a premium brand born from the joint venture of Huawei and JAC, with the S800 serving as the brand’s first car. At 5,480mm, the Maextro S800 is longer than the Mercedes-Maybach S Class, and has some visual signatures on the exterior that looks to be taken from the Rolls Royce and Maybach playbook.

It begins with the two-tone paint for the exterior and generous use of chrome. Likewise, the chrome-plated wheels appear to be in similar design with the Rolls Royce Phantom. From the side, the S800 looks like a four-door version of the Rolls Royce Wraith. Interior pictures are yet to surface as Huawei is still gearing up to introduce the model in its home market.
With big size, comes big in power. The Maextro S800 can be bought with a choice of full BEV or and EREV powerplant. The former has a tri-motor setup that puts out 863 PS, while the latter’s combination of a 1.5-liter turbo and three electric motors put out a whopping 1020 PS.
In the EREV version, the Maextro S800’s 63 kWh NMC battery gives up to 371 km of range on pure electric power.

The S800 is also developed to meet level 3 advanced driver assistance standards by utilizing Huawei’s ADS advanced intelligent driving assistance system, hence the LiDAR sensor at the roof.
The Maextro S800 will be built in JAC’S headquarters in Hefei, China, while its home launch could happen by the second quarter of 2025.
