New spy photos show all-new Hyundai Santa Fe with a brand-new look
It has yet to be officially announced by the automaker, but Hyundai has been busy testing the next-generation Santa Fe for quite some time. It was first spotted late last year and we were surprised by its boxy new look despite the heavy use of camouflage.
Instead of a crossover design, the all-new Hyundai Santa Fe appears to adopt a Defender-like shape. Not only that, but the Santa Fe could also grow in size and get a brand-new face to complement its redesigned appearance.
Fast forward to the end of May 2023, and the next-generation Santa Fe loses some of its camouflage. Spotted by an eagle-eyed spy photographer, the prototype vehicle still has a boxy shape. However, we now have a better look at the Santa Fe's new front fascia, and we like what we're seeing.
Perhaps the most significant feature of the front end is the H-shaped LED turn signals which also appear to serve as the LED daytime running lights. Not only are they eye-catching, but it also makes the next-generation Santa Fe stand out more. Meanwhile, the LED headlights look like they're integrated within the H-shaped design of the DRLs/turn signals.
Hyundai is not yet ready to show the Santa Fe's new rear given the generous use of false panels and camouflage. What we can expect, however, is that it could significantly look different from the outgoing generation.
The photographer also took a quick peek inside the all-new Santa Fe. Based on the image, it appears it will have a fully-digital instrument panel along with a new touchscreen infotainment system. Meanwhile, the controls for the HVAC look like a mix of touch-sensitive controls, dials, and physical buttons.
There's no exact date yet when Hyundai will launch the 2024 Santa Fe. But given that the automaker is still busy testing the next-generation crossover, it might be a while before we hear any official word from the company. Hopefully, Hyundai will actually hold its global debut later this year.
