Lamborghini Huracan joins Italian Highway Patrol

Lamborghini has recently delivered a new Huracan Polizia, the police version of its Huracan sports car, to the Italian Highway Patrol. A special ceremony was held in which Lamborghini CEO Stefano Domenicali handed over the keys of the specially equipped Huracan to Interior Minister, Senator Marco Minniti.

Since the Huracan will be used by Italian police, a wide array of upgrades were made to allow the police to fully utilize the sports car. Like other police cars, it comes with a gun holster, portable fire extinguisher, police radio, camera, and a computer. Aside from that, the Huracan still pushes out 618 PS from its naturally aspirated 5.2-liter V10 engine making it a high-speed chaser.

Aside from normal police duties, the Huracan will also be used in urgent transportation of blood and organs. The luggage compartment has been modified for this use as it now hosts a special refrigeration system, allowing the transport of vital organs or blood. To provide emergency aid to those in need, it also equipped with a defibrillator.

Outside, the Huracan uses the official color of the Italian Police (Police Medium Blue) with white areas and lettering matched to Huracan's body. The livery is then finished with the Italian tricolor stripe on the side and the sidewalls of the Pirelli P-Zero tires also tinted Police Medium Blue.

The Huracan Polizia will be roaming the streets of Bologna, where Lamborghini is located. So next time someone fancies to go fast in the area, remember that the Italian police has something much faster.
