LTO Central Office is closed until further notice
Surge of active cases forces LTO to temporarily suspend operations at Central Office

Plan on visiting the Land Transportation Central Office today to renew your driver’s license or motor vehicle registration? Better reschedule it for another time. The LTO announced that they have suspended operations at the said office.
In an official Facebook post, the LTO said that starting today, January 7, 2022, the Central Office located along East Avenue in Quezon City has temporarily ceased operations. The move was a precautionary measure against the rising number of active cases in the country.

All of the employees working at the LTO Central Office will undergo massive swab testing to see if any are infected. Meanwhile, the Central Office itself will be disinfected to ensure the place is free of the virus.
As for when the LTO Central Office will resume operations, that remains to be seen. According to their recent post, the Central Office will remain closed until further notice.
With the number of cases in the country continuing to rise, perhaps it would be best to stay at home for the time being. But what if your driver’s license is due to expire this month? Not to worry as the LTO extended the validity of licenses and student permits that will expire this January, February, and March.
