MIAS 2024: Nissan PH wows Manila with Ariya EV crossover
Ariya EV by Nissan storms this year's Manila International Auto Show

After giving us a glimpse of the all-electric crossover just a couple of days ago, Nissan Philippines Inc (NPI) has officially previewed the Ariya at the 2024 Manila International Auto Show (MIAS).
That’s right, the stylish and high-tech EV from Nissan is in the Philippines and you can get an up-close look until April 7. Blending sleek futuristic looks with a zero-emissions powertrain, the Nissan Ariya actually serves as the brand’s first pure electric crossover SUV.

Starting with its looks, the Ariya comes with a pair of sleek LED headlights that are integrated with the closed-off grille. It also gets LED daytime running lights that are shaped to highlight the Ariya’s V-Motion grille design. Over to the side, the Ariya has a coupe-like roofline which gives the crossover a distinct look when compared to other electric crossovers. Complementing its sloping roof are black body claddings, a prominent rear bumper, a one-piece LED taillight, and large fan-style alloy wheels.
Hop aboard and the Ariya greets the occupants into a minimalistic yet tech-laden cabin. A pair of 12.3-inch digital displays can be seen inside and serve as the instrument cluster and touchscreen infotainment system. One will also immediately notice the lack of physical buttons on the dashboard. This is because Nissan used a touch-sensitive panel to manage some of the in-car functions like climate control, drive modes, and more.

Not only does this allow for a more high-tech appearance, but it also highlights the ability of Nissan to make the interior have fewer physical buttons without diminishing the in-car amenities.

The Nissan Ariya previewed for the Philippine market is the powerful e-4ORCE AWD version. This particular Ariya packs a pair of electric motors that deliver AWD capability. It generates an impressive 394 PS and a healthy 600 Nm of pull. Paired with a generous 87 kWh battery pack, Nissan claims the Ariya e-4ORCE can cover over 500 km on a single charge.
When it comes to recharging, Nissan says the Ariya e-4ORCE can recharge from 30% to 80% in just 30 minutes via DC fast charging. Alternatively, the Nissan Ariya also supports up to 22 kW of AC charging.

Nissan PH has yet to say how much the Ariya will cost once revealed. However, we won’t be surprised if the Ariya EV will have quite the price tag. We're also curious if they will be bringing lesser variants of the Ariya EV in the future.
