MMDA lists Top 20 traffic violations by motorists
Seat belt, driving in slippers, stalled vehicle, etc.

The first day of the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority’s (MMDA) No Contact Apprehension Program (NCAP) appears to have been highly effective, with a noticeable increase in motorists adhering to traffic regulations.
This heightened compliance is likely due to the understanding that the MMDA’s CCTVs are actively watching from above, and could make even the most minor infractions potentially costly.

Now, according to the MMDA, these are the top 20 traffic infractions with their corresponding fines that motorists commit daily, as compiled by the agency’s Traffic Ticket Management Division:
Illegal Turning – PHP 150
Unattended Illegal Parking – PHP 2,000 (with towing)
Disregarding Traffic Signs (DTS) – PHP 1,000
Number Coding (UVVRP) – PHP 500
Attended Illegal Parking – PHP 1,000
Dress Code for MC Riders (slippers) – PHP 500

The fees above reflect only the first offense amount. Second, and succeeding offenses range from PHP 100 up to PHP 5,000. Now, we know what kind of mistakes the MMDA sees most often, and how much those slip-ups can cost you. Let’s see if this sticks and if having those cameras watching helps us all drive a little better and safer around Metro Manila.
