Want to get a real-time, bird's eye view of traffic in the metro?

Thanks to the new agreement betwwn the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) and Information Capital Technology Ventures, Inc. (ICTV), you can now do it from the comfort of your office, home, tablet and smart phone.

Called the MMDA Traffic Mirror, it allows users to view the very same video feeds that are displayed at the MMDA MetroBase in Orense Street, Makati.

There are a total of 9 cameras that are available: EDSA-Taft, EDSA-Ayala, EDSA-Orense, EDSA-SM Megamall, EDSA-White Plains, EDSA-P. Tuazon, EDSA-Nepa Q-Mart, C5-Greenmeadows and Marcos Highway.

Users can switch to a single camera view or to viewing all 9 cameras simultaneously. The resolution isn't very high, but it does give you an idea of the traffic situation in real time.

The MMDA Traffic Mirror is the latest in the agency's technology-driven efforts to bring more information to tech-savvy motorists, following the success of the MMDA Twitter account and the MMDA Traffic Navigator app.
