Jeep Philippines officially joins the local B-segment crossover after launching the 2016 Renegade at this year's Philippine International Motor Show. Sporting a Wrangler-inspired exterior and compact dimensions, the Renegade is poised to take a chunk of the crossover market with its unique styling, high ground clearance and 'Tek-Tonic' interior.

Purpose-built for on- and off-road driving, the Renegade blends ruggedness with riding comfort. The front fascia, squared wheel arches and boxy profile are distinctly Jeep. It shares its platform with the Fiat 500 X and is manufactured in Melfi, Italy. It also gets 18-inch alloy wheels wrapped in 225/55 tires, daytime running lights, heated side mirrors with integrated turning signals and corner front foglights.

Under the hood, the Jeep Renegade is powered by a 1.4-liter turbocharged MultiAir2 inline-four. It develops 168 PS @ 5,500 rpm and 250 Nm of torque @ 2,500 rpm. It is then mated to a 9-speed Chrysler-developed automatic gearbox and Select-Terrain 4x4 system.

Safety features and driver aids that come standard on the Jeep Renegade include: anti-lock brakes, lane departure warning plus, roll mitigation, forward collision alert, speed limiter, traction control, hill-start assist, and front, side and curtain airbags.

The Jeep Renegade retails for PhP 1,941,000.
