Adventure-ready Lexus GX 460 Overland Concept makes its presence felt in Las Vegas
The DSport IS600+ wasn't the only tricked-out vehicle Lexus brought to this year's SEMA Show. Also making its presence felt in Las Vegas is a fully decked-out SUV that's ready for any overlanding adventure.
Say hello to the GX 460 Overland Concept, and boy does it look ready for anything and everything. Made in partnership with Cruiser Outfitters, what was originally a standard 2022 GX 460 Blackline Edition now combines the very best of a luxurious SUV and a go-anywhere 4x4.
The standard suspension system has been replaced with a new set from Old Man Emu which Lexus claims will deliver improved ground clearance and better load-carrying capability. Meanwhile, the 18-inch alloy wheels are now wrapped in Toyo Open Country M/T tires that measure 275/65/R18. And in case you haven't noticed it yet, the vehicle gets a custom body wrap finished in Turquoise Lavender which makes it stand even out more.
Other exterior highlights on the Overland Concept include CBI Offroad bumpers and skid plates, a Yakima Skyline heavy-duty roof tent, a Warn self-recovery power winch, a Prinsu roof rack, and LED light bars on the bumper and roof rack.
Once you've already picked your campsite, the GX 460 Overland Concept features a rear cargo area that's been fitted with plenty of equipment suited for the great outdoors. It gets Goose Gear drawers, Kaon racks/tables, an ARB fridge, as well as a stove for cooking/heating meals.
Also stored inside the modified SUV are recovery gears and traction boards from ARB and an air compressor for powering equipment or putting air in tires. Last but not least is a Yaesu 2M radio for trail and emergency communication while out in the wilderness.
With the GX 460 Overland Concept giving Lexus owners plenty of inspiration, perhaps we might get to see some heavily-customized GX 460s out on the road soon.
