Sleeker, smoother: Honda Pilot gets a new face for 2019

Honda's biggest crossover gets quite the facelift for the 2019 model year. The Pilot gets a new, smoother face, along with more tech which allows passengers more online connectivity and an update of the Honda Sensing safety suite. Besides that, Honda has also rolled out the US-spec HR-V facelift.

Much like the HR-V, the three-row Pilot SUV now takes on a more aggressive styling for the 2019 model year. It features a revised front bumper and a larger grill similar to that of current Honda models New LED headlights then flank the grill to give it a style reminisce of the Civic and even the HRV. At the rear, there is a new diffuser. A new wheel option rounds up the exterior changes.

Inside, the cabin of the Pilot has also been updated. Throughout the range, the new Display Audio System now comes standard with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto Integration, and is available with 4G LTE WiFi. Honda's CabinTalk in-car PA system and the rear entertainment systems have also been upgraded. Honda Sensing safety technology is now standard on all variants of the Pilot.

As for the HR-V, it looks similar to the model that debuted in Japan earlier this year. The only visual changes compared to the Japan model would be the amber corner lenses and a new set of wheels. 

Both the HR-V and the Pilot will carry over the same engines previously offered. The Pilot will go on sale in the US on July 16, while the HR-V will follow on July 24.
