Toyota developing seats that let you workout in traffic
Toyota is working on tilting seats that force your muscles to repeatedly tense and relax

Toyota has something in store for those who are always in heavy traffic, and dreaming of starting their “fitness era”.
Yes, that’s right. Toyota promises to give you an exercise while sitting still in a gridlock. They are developing tilting seats that allow your muscles to repeatedly tense and relax, even as you remain seated.
The automakers says the sensation is a bit similar to using a balance ball for core training. But instead of you doing the effort of rotating your hips, the seat supports revolve to constantly change the tilt direction. Toyota says once you feel a little burn on your hips and some fatigue, that’s the sign that your muscles are being engaged.
Since the seat is always moving, Toyota says it’s hard to stay in a fixed position. But with that said, the automaker said it intentionally does that to reduce back pain.

As of now, Toyota is still developing the concept and there’s quite a way to go before it gets considered for production. But what do you think of these balance ball seats? Is it a yay or a nay? Let us know in the comments.
