2022 Kia Sportage looks absolutely lit
2022 Kia Sportage gets a bold new look, inside and out

Last week, Kia revealed a teaser image of the all-new Sportage, and it looked nothing like the outgoing model. The fifth-generation model features muscular lines along with a more aggressive face. The rest of the car, however, was yet to be revealed; that is until now.
Meet the 2022 Kia Sportage, and boy is it a looker. Billed by the automaker as having a sleek yet muscular modern exterior design, along with a high-tech and spacious cabin, the Sportage essentially shows the future design of Kia.

Compared to the outgoing model, the new Sportage dons a sportier and more aggressive design. It has a bold front fascia that features a large front grille, boomerang-shaped LED daytime running lights, and cube-shaped headlights and foglights. The rear, meanwhile, gets sleek LED taillights, swooping fastback D-pillars, and an aggressive-looking rear bumper. Topping it all off are the distinct alloy wheels and a panoramic glass roof available on higher-end variants of the Sportage.

Like the exterior, the inside gets a sharp new look dominated by piano-black accents, faux aluminum trim pieces, and multiple displays. The instrument panel gets the digital treatment, while the infotainment screen gets a curved LED display. Flanking both monitors are the eye-catching L-shaped aircon vents which further highlight the Sportage's new sporty design.

Meanwhile, the center console gets various knobs and switches – including a rotary-style gear selector, a push-button start, and a touchpad for the infotainment system. Last but not least, Kia also gave the 2022 Sportage the option of having a two-tone interior, complete with contrast stitching for a more youthful appearance.

Powertrain details regarding the 2022 Kia Sportage have yet to be revealed. The 2022 Sportage will likely be available with a variety of turbocharged gasoline engines, hybrid and plug-in hybrid powertrains, and maybe a turbo-diesel engine, too.

With the first images of the all-new Kia Sportage already out, we might not wait long for its official market launch, along with the rest of its powertrain details.
