2022 Lexus IS 500 F Sport Performance is coming home
Japan to finally get 5.0-liter V8 IS 500 F Sport Performance

After the North American launch of the IS 500 F Sport Performance in 2021, Lexus is now gearing up to introduce a high-performance IS in Japan.
Lexus Japan has released a teaser image on Twitter showing off a rear quarter of a vehicle that appears identical to the IS 500 F Sport Performance sedan with the words “coming soon ”, with more details to come by July 21.

Since Japan only has the IS 350 and IS 300 h variants, the country has missed out on the IS 500 F Sport Performance currently being offered in North America. Speaking of which, the IS 500 F Sport Performance is packing a naturally-aspirated 5.0-liter V8 engine with 472 PS and 536 Nm of torque.

The Japanese domestic market (JDM) models are known for getting the best bits. And with that said, the IS 500 F Sport Performance could get more upgrades for its homecoming. These may include lighter materials such as a carbon fiber roof and hood, plus some aerodynamic bits like a front splitter, and of course, more power.
Everything will be fully revealed come July 21. But there's still one question remaining. Will Lexus eventually offer the IS 500 F Sport Performance to our local market? It goes without saying that we hope Lexus Philippines does in the future.
