All-new Hyundai Ioniq 5 EV arriving at your nearest dealership soon

Just before Christmas last year, Hyundai Motor Philippines Inc (HMPH) announced the prices of the upcoming Ioniq 5. First previewed at the 2022 Philippine International Show, it will serve as the brand's premier electric vehicle (EV) and will highlight Hyundai's shift towards electrification.

Based on the company's announcement, the Ioniq 5 will be available in two variants; GLS 2WD S (Standard Range) and GLS 2WD L (Long Range). But when will the Ioniq 5 actually be launched?

Well, according to a well-placed source, we won't have to wait too long. Based on the information we received from dealers, the Ioniq 5 will be arriving at showrooms this February. This means those who actually want to get one can visit their preferred dealership next month. Not only that, but customers will have peace of mind when they purchase an Ioniq 5 thanks to multiple warranty coverages.

Hyundai said that each vehicle will be covered by a standard 5-year/200,000-km warranty while the battery pack comes with an 8-year/160,000-km warranty coverage. Last but not least, the automaker will even throw in a 5-year/75,000-km free maintenance into the package.

As far as pricing is concerned, Hyundai said that the Ioniq 5 GLS 2WD S will sell for PHP 3.068 million while the GLS 2WD L will retail for PHP 3.698 million. But since President Marcos Jr. recently signed Executive Order No. 12 (E.O. 12), the 30% tariff on EVs has been temporarily removed. With that, Hyundai may adjust its prices for the Ioniq 5 to account for the stipulations under EO 12.
