2024 BMW XM super SUV debuts with PHP 15.890M price tag
All-new BMW XM arrives with 653 PS and 800 Nm of torque
After making its presence felt at the 2023 Bangkok International Motor Show earlier this year, BMW’s super plug-in hybrid (PHEV) SUV has officially made its way to the Philippines.
Say hello to the 2024 BMW XM, and it’s big in both performance and size. Positioned above the X5 M, X6 M Competition, and X7 M60i, the all-new XM serves as the second fully-dedicated M car after the much-revered 1978 BMW M1.
Beginning with its electrified heart, the 2024 XM gets an M Hybrid Drive system that consists of a 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8 and an electric motor powered by a lithium-ion battery with 25.7 kWh of usable energy. The engine alone makes 489 PS with 650 Nm of torque while the electric motor puts out 197 PS and 280 Nm. Combined, the M Hybrid Drive system generates a whopping 653 PS and 800 Nm of torque. Power is then sent to all four wheels via an 8-speed M Steptronic transmission.
From a standstill, BMW says the XM can sprint to 100 km/h in a mere 4.3 seconds and can reach an electronically-limited top speed of 250 km/h. On just electric power alone, however, the XM can still reach an impressive 140 km/h top speed and has an all-electric range of around 82 to 88 km. When it comes to recharging the lithium-ion battery, BMW will provide a Wallbox Charger in the customer’s home free of charge.
Style-wise, the all-new XM exudes a powerful presence with its bold dual kidney grille, split-type LED headlights and daytime running lights, massive 22-inch alloy wheels, M high-gloss Shadow Line with a black strip running along the body which is reminiscent of the BMW M1. Last but not least, the vehicle gets smooth D-pillars, eye-catching LED taillights, and distinct quad-style exhausts.
Like all current BMWs, the XM also sports the BMW Live Cockpit Professional. It consists of a fully digital instrument cluster and a curved display that supports Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Bluetooth, and navigation. The interior itself features BMW Leather Merino with Deep Lagoon-colored upholstery complete with carbon fiber interior trim pieces for the upper portions of the instrument/door panels. Also worth mentioning is the sculptural headliner with its three-dimensional prism structure, photo-mount style border, and 100 LED units.
Other important amenities present inside the all-new XM include; a Bowers & Wilkins surround sound system with over 20 speakers and 1,475 watts of audio power, a four-zone automatic climate control, M multi-function seats, an M leather steering wheel, and a heads-up display.
