Geely GX3 Pro special introductory price is PHP 698k
Geely Philippines now has a crossover that slots below the Coolray, and it’s aimed at taking sales away from subcompact sedans. After giving us a glimpse last week of its newest (and most affordable) crossover, Sojitz G Auto Philippines (SGAP) has officially revealed the 2024 GX3 Pro.
The GX3 Pro now serves as Geely’s entry-level crossover and it packs a 1.5-liter naturally-aspirated engine, a stylish interior, and a quirky-looking exterior design.
Beginning with its looks, the GX3 Pro features a distinct front end dominated by a pair of eye-catching headlights and a stylish grille that appears to be inspired by the Emgrand. Also worth mentioning are its LED daytime running lights, chrome accents on the grille, a diffuser on the rear bumper, a tailgate spoiler for added style, and a unique pair of LED taillights.
All variants of the GX3 Pro have 16-inch multi-spoke alloy wheels which help highlight the vehicle’s 185mm of ground clearance. Size-wise, the GX3 Pro is more compact than the Coolray. It measures 4005mm long, 1760mm wide, 1575mm tall, and has a 2480mm wheelbase.
As mentioned before, the interior of the Geely GX3 Pro may look familiar to some. That’s because the automaker essentially took the cabin of the Emgrand and put it in the GX3 Pro. The result is a stylish and sleek dashboard that shows a dual-gauge cluster with a 3.5-inch multi-info display, and an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment.
The media display supports AM/FM radio, Bluetooth connectivity, as well as smartphone mirroring via the CarbitLink software. Unfortunately, it doesn’t come with Apple CarPlay or Android Auto.
Other available features inside the GX3 Pro include a D-cut leather steering wheel, leather seats with contrast stitching, push-button start, electronic air-conditioning, a 6-speaker sound system (2 speakers for lesser variants), 60:40 split rear seats, and a power sunroof.
Powering the GX3 Pro is a 1.5-liter naturally-aspirated four-cylinder engine with dual variable valve timing (DVVT). It makes a humble 102 PS at 5600 rpm along with 142 Nm of torque between 4400 to 4800 rpm. Power goes to either a 5-speed manual gearbox or a CVT with 8 simulated gear ratios. For faster acceleration, the CVT version comes with Sport Mode.
When it comes to safety features, all variants get dual front airbags, anti-lock brakes with electronic brakeforce distribution, brake assist, a reverse camera with dynamic guide lines, rear parking sensors, and a low tire pressure warning light. Available only for the CVT offering are traction & stability control, hill-start assist, hill-descent control, and cruise control.
The 2024 Geely GX3 Pro starts at PHP 778,000 for the base model S M/T while the top-of-the-line Comfort CVT has a sticker price of PHP 878,000. However, Geely is offering a special introductory price of PHP 698,000 for the S M/T and PHP 798,000 for the CVT version for a limited time.
