Check out some of the specifications of the hybrid Honda CR-V
We're only just a few days away before Honda Cars Philippines Inc (HCPI) officially reveals the 2024 CR-V. But even before we received word from the automaker that they will be revealing it this September, we already knew as early as June 2023 that the next-generation CR-V will come with a VTEC Turbo engine or an electrified e:HEV hybrid powertrain under the hood.
Honda is not yet ready to reveal the all-new CR-V's specs and features. However, we were able to get a hold of information about the CR-V e:HEV.
Based on the document, the full name of the hybrid crossover is the 2024 Honda CR-V e:HEV CVT. Its 2.0-liter four-cylinder has an exact displacement of 1993cc and is assisted by an electric motor along with a lithium-ion battery pack. Don't expect third-row seating as the CR-V hybrid will only be a five-seater crossover.
As for its size, the CR-V e:HEV measures 4691mm long, 1866mm wide, 1681mm tall, and has a 2701mm wheelbase. It also has 198mm of ground clearance and a curb weight of 1780 kg. Last but not least, it will have 18-inch alloy wheels wrapped in 235/60 series tires.
Since this particular CR-V is classified already as a hybrid, this will mean that the crossover will be eligible to be exempted from the number coding scheme. Given that it's a full hybrid, we don't see any reason that the Department of Energy will exclude it from the list.
The 2024 Honda CR-V will be making its official debut in the country on September 13, 2023, and will start at around PHP 2.15 million for the 1.5V Turbo CVT. It will then be followed by the 1.5 VX Turbo CVT AWD which will sell for about PHP 2.3 million. Serving as the most expensive variant is the 2.0 RS e:HEV CVT which will have a sticker price of PHP 2.6 million thereabouts.
