The 2024 edition of MIAS will take place at the World Trade Center and at SMX
2023 proved to be a big year for the automotive industry as automakers were able to bounce back after years of slow sales caused by the pandemic. Not only were manufacturers able to hold launches at the World Trade Center in Pasay City, but they were also able to secure more reservations compared to 2022.
With the industry as a whole and the country now back to pre-pandemic conditions, automakers are poised to hold more vehicle launches this year. And true enough, the Manila International Auto Show (MIAS) has just announced that the 2024 edition is all set.
From April 4 to 7, the annual auto show will take place once more. But instead of just holding it at the World Trade Center (WTC) Metro Manila like previous iterations, the Manila International Auto Show will also be taking place at the SMX Convention Center at the Mall of Asia Complex. You read right, for the first time, MIAS will be happening in not one but two locations.
Speaking with Alvin Uy, a co-organizer for MIAS, there will be several new brands and some returning manufacturers that will be present at this year's auto show. This is one of the main reasons why they decided to hold the 2024 MIAS in two venues.
Does this mean show-goers will have to pay for two separate tickets when they visit WTC or SMX That will not be the case as Uy mentioned that visitors need to pay for only one ticket for the two venues. The price of the ticket will be PHP 150 per person and it will be valid for one whole day. In addition, shuttle services will be provided between the two venues.
While this may be the first time that MIAS will have two separate venues, Worldbex Services International has been staging dual venues for over a decade for its construction show. The team is already familiar with the logistics of handling two large venues simultaneously which means this is not something new for them.
With the auto show set to happen in April, we'll be keeping our eyes peeled for any information regarding which manufacturers will be present at this year's event. For now, watch this space.
