All-new Hyundai Elantra Hybrid also coming to PH?
It looks like the Hyundai Elantra could return in ICE and Hybrid variants

Remember when we reported last week that Hyundai Motor Philippines Inc. (HMPH) received approval for two new passenger vehicles? One engine displaces 1598cc and could be the brand's 1.6L T-GDi that produces 204 PS and 265 Nm of torque. The other engine, meanwhile, displaces 1591cc and might be Hyundai's 1.6L Gamma II MPI engine which puts out 127 PS and 144 Nm of torque.
After crunching the numbers and doing some research, it looks like the Elantra is set to make a comeback via the 7th-generation model. We were initially expecting a hybrid variant but it looks like Hyundai will pass on it, or so we thought.

Fast forward one week later and there's a new development with regards to the possible variants of the all-new Hyundai Elantra coming to the Philippines. Based on a recently approved regulatory approval, HMPH was given clearance to bring a new passenger vehicle with a 1580cc engine which translates to 1.6 liters of displacement. It also has a reference weight of 1470 kg.
After cross-checking the numbers and figures, it looks like the all-new Hyundai Elantra will also be offered with a hybrid powertrain. Based on what other markets get, the Elantra Hybrid is powered by a 1.6L four-cylinder engine that displaces 1580cc. It's assisted by an electric motor and a 1.32 kWh battery pack which delivers a total system output of 141 PS and 265 Nm of torque. The powertrain is then paired with a 6-speed wet dual-clutch gearbox that drives the front wheels.

With Toyota and Honda currently selling the Corolla Altis HEV and the Civic RS e:HEV, respectively, it's not surprising to see that Hyundai wants in on that segment. This also proves that despite the growing popularity of crossovers and SUVs, there is still a market for the four-door sedan in the Philippines.
Could we see Hyundai officially reveal the all-new Elantra at the 2025 Manila International Auto Show? That we'll have to find out.
