43rd Bangkok International Motor Show ready to kick off on March 23
Grand Prix International Public Company Limited (PCL) officially announced that the 2022 Bangkok International Motor Show will open on March 23 at the IMPACT Challenger Hall, Muang Thong Thani. The event will run until April 3.
Organizers have shared that 37 brands of global car and motorcycle brands are confirmed to fill the 170,960 square-meter exhibition area. There will be over 20 electric vehicles displayed in the EV Smart City zone in response to new emission-free mobility trends.
For its 43rd edition, organizers have themed the show with the concept "Keep Moving Forward Together"; indicating the experiences that lead to the discovery of a new gateway to the betterment and inspiration for lifelong learning. Alluding to the automotive industry which continues to endure time with a journey that never ends and continuously innovates to improve human mobility.
The 43rd Bangkok International Motor Show promises to be an event full of smiles, laughter, and inspiration to many people in many different ways. It hopes to inspire collaboration, togetherness, unity in action, and spirit to push forward economic recovery despite the many obstacles we face today.
The Bangkok International Motor Show is perhaps the most resilient motor show in the world, weathering several bouts with the financial crisis, political unrest, and the recent pandemic; having continued on in 2020 and 2021. According to the organizers, the event was even able to attract 1.049 million visitors in 2020 and 1.34 million in 2021, having booked 27,868 car reservations; they are expecting to do better this year.
"In 2022, the automotive industry of Thailand is now starting to recover after encountering the impacts of the COVID-19 outbreak for approximately 2 years. This year, the government sector has forecasted that the production of cars and motorcycles in Thailand will increase compared to the previous year after many countries in the world can control the situation of the COVID-19 pandemic, which makes people return to live a normal life and the economy can move forward again,” said Dr. Prachin Eamlumnow, Grand Prix International PCL CEO and Chairman of The 43rd Bangkok International Motor Show.
Participating automotive brands at this year's Motor Show are Ford, BMW, MINI, Mercedes-Benz, Great Wall Motors, Rolls-Royce, Aston Martin, Maserati, Peugeot, Jeep, Toyota, Lexus, MG, Mazda, Suzuki, Isuzu, Hyundai, Audi, Honda, Mitsubishi Motors, Nissan, Volvo, Porsche, Bentley, Kia, Subaru, and TAKANO.
Some vehicles to look out for are the following; All-new Ford Ranger Raptor, Audi e-tron, Audi e-tron Sportback, Audi e-tron GT, BMW iX, BMW iX3, BMW i4, Lexus UX 300e, Mercedes-Benz EQS, MG EP Plus, MINI Cooper SE, Nissan Leaf, ORA Good Cat, Porsche Taycan, Porsche Taycan Cross Turismo, Volvo XC40 Pure Electric, Volvo C40 Pure Electric as well as other electric models, which will be revealed at the event itself.

The new EV Smart City zone aims to raise awareness of zero-emission and ultra-low emission vehicles. There will be a display of battery electric vehicles (BEV) and plug-in hybrid vehicles (PHEV) with 8 models from the leading manufacturers, such as BMW, Great Wall Motor, MG, MINI, Mitsubishi Motors, Nissan, Porsche, and Volvo.
“The 43rd Bangkok International Motor Show is the year of electric vehicles because the car and motorcycle manufacturers will be displaying their electric vehicles for over 20 models. Besides, Arun Plus Co., Ltd., an affiliated firm of PTT will be joining for the first time to present the future of electric vehicles in Thailand as well as introduce the virtual reality technology or Metaverse in collaboration with Finn Solution Co., Ltd. for visitors who are interested in buying a car to try an interactive drive through their mobile phone, which will create a new experience to visitors,” said Mr. Jaturont Komolmis, COO of Sales and Marketing, Grand Prix International PCL and Vice Chairman of the 43rd Bangkok International Motor Show.
For those who are interested in motorsports, the organizer will be showcasing Honda City Hatchback; the racing car from the racing event dubbed Honda City Hatchback One Make Race. Moreover, there will be digital motorsports activities in the GP eRacing booth. There will also be a Grand Prix Motor Park booth and a souvenir zone of the brand ROD that will have original and limited products available for visitors to buy.
“A racing event has always been a part of Grand Prix International PCL. In the previous event, the company has organized the Honda City Hatchback One Make Race for the first time, which receives good feedback from the racers and audiences. Moreover, we have expanded our business to digital motorsports by forming GP eRacing, which started in 2019. Early Bird tickets for the Motor Show are now available at a special price of 50 baht and with a limited number through the website https://motorshow-online.com from now until March 22, 2022. Those who buy an Early Bird ticket will receive a QR Code to present to the staff at the main gateways of Challenger Hall 1-3. It is also available to purchase via the K-Plus application, and with a point redemption of KTC credit cards as well as other online channels.

The 43rd Bangkok International Motor Show will be held at IMPACT Challenger Hall 1-3, Muang Thong Thani from March 23, 2022, to April 3, 2022, from 12:00 PM to 10:00 PM. The regular ticket price is 100 baht, and visitors will get a chance to win cars, motorcycles, and other prizes through a lucky draw. The prizes are MG EP Plus, ORA Good Cat (400 Tech), Kawasaki W175, Honda Super Cub, Yamaha GT125, Suzuki Smash 115 FI as well as souvenirs from the organizer, worth THB 2,940,370 in total.
